ABOUT ROTARY CLUB OF SAN MATEO SUNRISE
Since 1986, The Rotary Club of San Mateo Sunrise has been an integral part of the community. Our Rotary Club is comprised of a diverse group of business and professional leaders from the very community that we serve. We take an active role in local community and international projects. This participation greatly enriches our personal and professional lives through the spirit of service.
JDRF is the leading global organization funding T1D research
Millions of people around the world live with type 1 diabetes (T1D), a life-threatening autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults. There is no way to prevent it, and at present, no cure. JDRF works every day to change this by amassing grassroots support, deep scientific knowledge and strong industry and academic partnerships to fund research.
Who: Rotary Club of San Mateo Sunrise event to benefit JDRF, the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research. Open to all ages; ages 6 & up must be registered.
What: A 5K walk, run, hop, skip, leap, mosey on a designated route. Along the way, participants go through stations where they are sprayed with colored powder. After the 5K, everyone will gather for a fun festival.
When: Sunday, June 12, 2016. The 5K starts at 10:00 a.m. Packet pickup begins at 8:00 a.m.
Where: The 5K and festival are located on the College of San Mateo Campus. A short portion of the 5K route extends beyond the campus. See the route map below.
Why: To have fun and do good at the same time! Just by participating, you support the outreach programs and activities of the Rotary Club of San Mateo Sunrise.
